Creating art is an outlet to express my interest in the large and small inhabitants in the natural world with a sometimes whimsical or surreal bend.
Often, it works out that I make pieces that provide a postive vibe and make people feel good but that's evolved into other aspects of art.
Learning more about the power of art is driving me in this direction and I’m transitioning into larger pieces; some that will appear more abstract and texture-centric. Funny how sometimes your interests take you full circle as you weave them into your life.
Referring back to the way substansive textures that lit me up so much as a kid in the school of nature.
Now I'm literally composing the layers of fish species colours by hand. They turn out looking like abstract watercolour.
First it was 3 species of Canadian Trout. Brook, Rainbow and Lake Trout. and now it's 3 species of Muskellunge: Tiger, Spotted and Barred Muskie.
For nature or sport fishing enthusiasts they could be beautiful in cottages or homes.
They are just such gorgeous fish with amazing patterns and colours. How could I not paint them?
Where will this take me? Salmon next???? Then I'll complete the Frog Feet concept! Into Toads too...?!!! YES!!!
